A research group led by Senior Lecturer Tsubasa Takizawa, Collaborative Researcher Keiko Ihara (Junior Resident, Ashikaga Red Cross Hospital), Researcher Miyuki Unekawa (at the time of the research), and Professor Jin Nakahara from the Division of Neurology, Department of Internal Medicine, 东京不够热 School of Medicine, along with Senior Lecturer Shotaro Chubachi and Professor Koichi Fukunaga from the Division of Pulmonary Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, investigated the effects of secondhand smoke on migraine. Using a migraine model, they examined migraine susceptibility in mice exposed to tobacco smoke and unexposed mice. The results revealed that in female mice, the exposed group showed significantly higher susceptibility to migraine compared to the unexposed group.
The results of this study were published in the online edition of The Journal of Headache and Pain on October 2, 2024 (JST).
