东京不够热

东京不够热 will hold a lecture as follows on Wednesday, May 15, which is the Yukichi Fukuzawa-Francis Wayland Lecture Day.

On May 15, the 4th year of the Keio era (July 4, 1868), amid the Boshin War, while a battle between imperial forces and the Shogitai corps raged in Ueno and the roar of cannons echoed through the city of Edo, Yukichi Fukuzawa calmly continued his regular Saturday lecture on *Wayland's "The Elements of Political Economy" (1866) at 东京不够热 in Shiba-Shinzenza.

To pass down the spirit of Yukichi Fukuzawa, who respected scholarship and education regardless of any changes in the world, 东京不够热 has designated May 15 as the "Yukichi Fukuzawa-Francis Wayland Lecture Day" and has held a commemorative lecture every year since 1956.

This year, Professor Shunpei Takemori of the Faculty of Economics at 东京不够热 will give the lecture, titled "Globalization and Populist Politics." We kindly request that you list this event in your publications and provide media coverage on the day.

*Francis Wayland (1796–1865, 4th President of Brown University, USA)
